Business Carnival- 2019

The Business Carnival 2019 of School of Business, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) was held on October 11, 2019. On this occasion, the University campus was nicely decorated with colored papers, flowers, festoons and placards. The Head of the School of Business, Prof. Dr. Saleh Md. Mashehdul Islam presided over the gorgeous carnival. Distinguished guests, faculty members, and students from SoB attended the colorful program. The events of the day long program were included music, band songs, solo dances, group dances, western and funny ramps and choruses. Extracurricular activities increase opportunities for social interaction and new relationship development. These activities teach students how to work for a common goal and this ultimately develops a sense of responsibility in them. It increases the level of confidence and also teaches them how to co-operate and work with people in different conditions. They learn to face the challenges that come in education and career. As most of these activities are group-oriented, which have students from different niches, which give them a chance to more know about people of different passions and cultures. Besides this, they can also find clubs or groups that share similar social, religious or even entertainment interest for socialization. Interact with people from different backgrounds help in the development of interpersonal skills of students.

Discussion Session on: Career Campaign on Management Trainee Program of Lanka Bangla Finance Limited (LBFL)

A discussion session titled: "Career-Campaign on Management Trainee Program" was jointly organized by the School of Business, AUST and Lanka Bangla Finance Limited (LBFL) on Thursday, 26th September 2019 at VC Seminar Room of AUST Campus. The program was inaugurated by the hon'ble chief guest Prof. Dr. Md. Amanullah (Treasurer, AUST and Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences) at 3.45 PM. Faculty members and students of School of Business were present during inauguration. The discussants were: Mr. A. K. M. Kamruzzaman, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Operations Division (LBFL), and Mr. Mohammad Hafiz Al Ahad, Vice President and Head of Human Resources Division (LBFL).In the discussion session, the discussants shared their valuable insights regarding current state of the job market, concurrent career challenges and present status of the non banking financial institutions, especially LBFL. After the formal presentation, a lively question and answering session was also held. Students got the chance to meet with different professionals who shared information about current job opportunities. They gained idea about LBFL's activities and got the opportunity to be selected to appear at written examination through an interview session.

Football Fiesta-Spring'2019

The Inter-Section Football Tournament (SoB Football Fiesta Spring'2019) of School of Business, AUST was held on 22nd & 29th September, 2019 in the SWAT Field, Banani, Dhaka. All sections of School of Business, AUST participated in this Tournament. The main focus of holding such a festival is to provide a platform for students to showcase their football tactics rather than giving them a competition feel. Objectives of this tournament also were to provide an opportunity for students to take part in football matches, to assist them display their skills in a fun environment and to teach students to work as a team and strengthen sportsmanship. Since its believe that students should develop their minds while installing positive values like teamwork and sportsmanship, SoB try to motivate students to develop their skills rather than focusing on winning and losing. However, SoB acknowledges student participation and achievements by awarding them with medals, different individual awards and Champion, Runners Up Trophies.

An International Seminar on- "Islamic Finance: How it’s contributing to a better world"

An international seminar on " Islamic Finance: How its contributing to a better world " was held on 3rd September, 2019 at VC Seminar Room of AUST for better collaboration with the Malaysian initiatives in Islamic Finance and the role of International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance(INCEIF). The seminar was organized jointly by Academy of Business Professionals (ABP) and School of Business, AUST. Honorable Dean of Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, honorable Head of School of Business, faculty members and students of SoB were present at the seminar. The aim of this seminar is to make future collaboration between Bangladesh and INCEIF (Malaysia).

Cell Bazaar Inc. at School of Business, AUST

A Discussion session on 'Future Mobile Technologies and their Social and Economic Impact on Bangladesh' was organized jointly by the School of Business, AUST and CellBazaar Inc., business partner GrameenPhone. It was held on July 16, 2007 where the speaker was Kamal S. Quadir, Founder of CellBazaar. This seminar was to make the Business students aware about new mobile phone technologies and its’ multiple uses. Prof. Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam, Treasurer, AUST and Prof. Dr. S. M. Kabir, Dean, School of Business, AUST delivered welcome speeches. The program was coordinated by Saleh Md. Mashehdul Islam, Assistant Professor, School of Business

Resume Writing Session at School of Business, AUST

A ‘Résumé Writing’ session was held on July 12, 2007 at the School of Business, AUST. In order to build up CV writing capability of business students, the School of Business (AUST) has organized the session. The session was conducted by Mr. Md. Iftekhar Arafath, Faculty of AUST and coordinated by Saleh Md. Mashehdul Islam, Assistant Professor, and School of Business. The sessions started followed by the inauguration speech and welcome speech of Prof. Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam, Treasurer, AUST and Prof. Dr. S. M. Kabir, Dean, School of Business, AUST. The session focused on the art of writing resume that best fit the fresh graduates to achieve their career goals and to face the competitive job market.

Fresher’s Reception and Orientation at School of Business, AUST

Better education for better nation and better career, keeping this in mind, all the newly enrolled students in the BBA program at the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) welcomed on the occasion of fresher’s reception held on April 28, 2007.  School of Business has arranged the reception and orientation for the students of 19th batch enrolled in the Spring semester 2007. Dean and faculty members were present in the occasion.

Dean, Professor Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam addressed in the function focusing on the various aspects of the university, academic programs, and rules and regulations.  Speakers advised the students to follow the rules and regulations of the university, to make use of the available facilities for better learning and exploring their talents, and to pay attention to uphold and enhance the image of the university.

The program finally ended up with firm commitment that the dreams of the students must be made to come true through sincere efforts from both the teachers and students.
